Central Park In Dyer Indiana has something for everyone!
Central Park is located at 942 213th St., in Dyer Indiana. The park is just west of the Jewel-Osco and the Texas Roadhouse in Dyer.
This one minute video gives a drone tour of Central Park. The video tour starts at the entrance to the Central Park off of Calumet Ave., follows the road into the park, shows the dog park, then shows the soccer fields, then shows the baseball fields and batting cages, then shows the playground in the middle of the 4 baseball fields, then shows the “Off The Track Garden”, and follows the walking trail.
While filming this video tour I had to fly a bit lower, and it was fun to see the dogs at the dog park eyeing the drone as it flew by.
This map shows the location of the Dyer Kickers soccer fields for Dyer Kickers. The fields are:
There are 4 baseball fields at Central Park. The 4 fields are all connected with a concrete walkway in between them with covered sitting areas, a concession stand building, and a playground. This area was built in early 2020s and is in great condition.
The parking lot is adjacent to the north and has a lot of parking spaces. There is asphalt or concrete all the way from the parking lot to the baseball field seating areas, which makes viewieng the games very enjoyable. There is also bleacher seating at the fields, so if you don’t bring a chair, there’s still plenty of seating
There are 8 batting cages at the Central Park basebell fields. The batting cages do not have a lock on them, so you could use them if they are not already occupied. The walls of the batting cages is a net type material. From watching people use the batting cages, you would either use a tee, or you would have someone pitch you baseballs. The batting cages are located at the northeast end of Central Park, just south of the north parking lot.
The Pavilion is available to rent for parties. There are about 10 picnic tables and a men’s and women’s bathroom with running water, making the Pavilion a great venue for a party or an event. During soccer games on Saturdays there is often food trucks parked adjacent to the pavilion where you can buy hot food and drinks.
The playground at Central Park is located just east of the center concession stand building. You can’t miss the playgroud because it is just about in the middle of the 4 baseball fields. The playground has two play sets, one for toddlers, and one for older kids.
The smaller playground has stairs, a slide, and some climbing features.
The larger playset has a few slides, a moving bridge, and stairs on each end.
