Where is Highpoint Praire Subdivision Located?

The location of Highpoint Prairie subdivision is at the very southwest corner of the Town of Dyer Indiana

To get the Highpoint Trails subdivision you would take Steger Road (aka 81st Ave.) to Hart St., then South on Hart St. to Highpoint Stargrass Lane, and then you are at the entrance to the subdivision.  As a landmark of where to turn is the BP gas station on the northwest corner of Steger Road and 81st. Avenue.

Highpoint Prairie Subdivision Home Owners Association (HOA)

Does Highpoint Prairie have a Home Owners Association

No, Highpoint Trails subdivision does not have an HOA, but it does have its own covenants that put restrictions and requirements on the subdivision.  Read the Highpoint Prairie Covenants and Restrictions here.

What are some of the main restrictions of the subdivision?

  • All first floor elevations facing the road must masonry brick or stone
  • All one story homes must have a minimum of 1,900 sq. ft
  • all 1.5 story homes must have minimum first floor area of 1,400 sq. ft. and total for both floors not less than 2,000 sq. ft
  • all two-story homes must have a minimum of 1,300 sq. ft. on the first floor and minimum total of 2,000 sq. ft. for both floors
  • No bi-levels, tri-levels, quad-levels, raised ranches or multi-level style homes with more than 2 levels shall be permitted
  • all homes must have at least a 2 car garage, and no detached garages allowed
  • All driveways to be concrete (asphalt not allowed)
  • No mobile homes, boats, trailers or commercial vehicles may be parked for more than 24 hours in a driveway or in the street
  • All fences must be white vinyl 

What Type Of Homes Are In Highpoint Prairie subdivision?

Ranch homes, 1.5 story homes, 2 story homes, tri-level homes, bi-level homes, and quad-level homes are all allowed.

Which schools serve Highpoint Prairie Subdivision?

  • Highpoint Trails subdivision is in the Lake Central school district
  • High school is Lake Central High School
  • Elementary school is George Bibich Elementary school, which only a couple blocks to the east right off of 81st Ave.

Are there any parks in Highpoint Prairie Subdivision?

Yes, Highpoint Prairie has a really nice park that was built in about 2020.  There is a playground for elementary age kids, and a smaller playset for toddler age kids.  There is also a nice swing set and a paved walking path – parents enjoy being able to keep an eye on their kids playing while getting their laps in.
