Maxwell Street Polish | Chicago, IL

One thing that is great about Maxwell Street is that fries are included in each order.  They only take cash, and there is no online ordering (that I could find.). The service is quick.  Maxwell Street Polish is a chain, so there are a number of these restaurants throughout Chicago.

Every year my father-in-law and my son go to the Chicago Auto Show, and our tradition is to stop at Maxwell Street to get food.

I was originally turned on to Maxwell Street from my cousin that is a handful of years older than me – back in the day when we were in our twenties in our Chicago clubbing phase, Maxwell Street is where we would stop at for a bite to eat on our way home (usually at about 2:00am!)

The food is always consistant, and is what you expect – tasty greasy food.  

There is no seating in the restaurant, so be aware that all food is “to-go” (or “take-away” of you are from other parts of the world.). Given how greasy the food is, we usually eat in my truck while parked on the street, as trying to eat this type of food while driving is not a good plan (lesson learned the hard way with some grease spots I got on my clothes!)
